The Appenninica MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race in Italy. Somewhere along the Apennine ridge between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. All eyes on this new kid on the block that seems to have all the ingredients to firmly establish itself in the European stage race calendar. And one of the few MTB stage races that will take place this year.
After a first edition of great success in 2019, the organizers have kept a very low maximum number of participants for the second edition in 2020 -only 150 solo riders allowed- and moved the dates from July to autumn times. BIKEHIGH will be joining the race from September 27th till October 3rd.
7 days. 7 stages. Offering both beautiful trails and spectacular rides through stages that wind along beautiful ridges and thick forests within parks, descending down valleys and crossing rivers until the arrival at home of the title sponsor Parmigiano Reggiano. A varied route with 460 kilometers on the counter and an elevation gain of about 16.000 metres. The scenery is that of the authentic and wild Apennines of Emilia Romagna region, following parts of the Alta Via dei Parchi MTB trail.

Four cities will be hosting the Race Village of the Appenninica: Alto Reno Terme, Fanano, Castelnovo ne' Monti and Noceto. Offering the participants a warm welcome and -whitout a doubt- the best Italian cuisine of any MTB races.
Although the autumn dates give more guarantees in terms of the COVID-19 emergency, the organizers are preparing all the necessary protocols. Obviously the competition will take place if the conditions of health security are met.
