With a pioneering spirit in supporting the unsupported, PEdALED is proud to present the inaugural edition of the Atlas Mountain Race, an unsupported single-stage cycling race through the beautiful but harsh Morocco during February 2020. It's a mental and physical challenge that will be written and talked about. Registrations are now open.
The Atlas Mountain Race is a fixed route, unsupported, single-stage cycling race that starts in Marrakesh, crosses the Moroccan Atlas before taking riders through the Anti-Atlas and on to Agadir. The clock does not stop and there are no prizes. It follows gravel, single and double track and old colonial pistes that have long been forgotten and fallen into disrepair. There is very little tarmac. There is some walking, and at times there are great distances between resupply points.
The race starts on the 15th of February with a ‘grand départ’ from Marrakesh. Riders will follow a 1145 kilometre fixed route that passes through three staffed control points. They will need to get a stamp in their brevet card at each, before finally heading to the finish line near Agadir in Sidi Rabat, a picturesque village on the Atlantic coast.
PEdALED began out of a love for cycling. In 2007, Hideto Suzuki started creating beautiful and functional apparel to complement his cycling lifestyle in Tokyo. Since then, he has gone on to create a number of award-winning collections based on his belief that each feature of a garment can improve function and performance, not simply aesthetics.
